Wednesday's Workout

I was on Instagram this morning scrolling through and someone that I follow was talking about Wednesday Wellness and and asked their followers what they were doing for self care. You could respond to their stories with a poll and some of the options for answers were things like, stretching, meditation, reading…all good things for us, but it instantly made me think that I should call Wednesdays, Wednesday’s Workout, because I worked really hard in my run today and I totally classify that as a self care moment.

Running is choosing to do the hard things. There is so much beauty in working hard. We are often tempted to want to choose the easy way out, to skip the workout, to pick convenience wherever we can, but when we do that we miss out on so much. We miss out on the satisfaction and feeling of accomplishment that can only be achieved when we’ve push ourselves to our limits.

Today’s workout may have no pushed me to my absolute limit, but it was hard. I worked hard and completed the whole training block even when my legs and lungs were VERY tired and I am proud of my efforts.
