Choosing to Celebrate Consistency and Perseverance

Summer has wrapped up, and school is back in full swing! This past season, I jumped into our local 5k series and completed three races. I had high hopes of getting faster with each one and started training strong, but as the summer heat kicked in and life got busy, my training took a bit of a hit. I ended up running my fastest time in the first race and slowed down a bit in the next two.

Instead of feeling frustrated or disappointed, I’m choosing to celebrate my consistency and perseverance. Despite the scorching summer heat, which usually makes me slack off or stop running altogether, I kept at it. I’m proud to say I ran at least three days a week, finished all three races, and am still running.

Things don’t always go exactly as we plan or hope, and it’s easy to feel like giving up when that happens. But I want to encourage you to keep going. Push forward, and take pride in the effort you’ve put into your goal, even if everything isn’t perfect.

Life is always changing, and how you respond to the unexpected is up to you. You have the power to choose your attitude and effort. Choose to keep moving forward—you’re worth it!
